#OOTD: Paradise bird in sheeps’ clothes.

Hola Sunshines!

It’s me again, but then a 21 year old version of myself. Which I still can’t really seem to realize but, who cares? I’m enjoying my last days in Paradise to the fullest and so I decided to take in some extra sunlight before heading back to pumpkins, rain and Northpoleradio.com at home. So today’s office is the beach at the camping. This is a true hippy treasure and since it’s a nudist beach, it’s not really worth taking #ootd pics here. Yesterday I took my mum to Benirras where we had a great truffle pasta for lunch at Elements. My stomach still has to get used to any other food than chickpeas, but I guess truffle is an expection that any organ in my body is willing to make. So here I am, writing on a boiling Ipad, looking on what must have been the Garden of Eden. Where nudity is considered natural, and where apples aren’t the only forbidden fruits around.

So let’s get down to business, what am I wearing today? Or what have I been wearing for exactly 10 extremely hot minutes this morning before jumping into the sea. As always, I have combined different materials, colors and prints based upon trends from this fall. Cobalt blue and ochre yellow suèdes with hints of sheepskin and folksy embroideries give this look a colorful, young and cool interpertation on Folk. I personally love combining these two colors as they make an outstanding combination that reminds me on African skies and one of my favorite photographs by the iconic Robert Mapplethorpe. I guess the personal memory and connection to Africa made me grab a never failing leopard item. Since these shorts reminded me a little of a 60’s miniskirt, I felt like I needed a modern version of the paperboy’s cap and some proper over the knee boots reminiscent of Jane Fonda’s Barbarella poster. The paperboy’s cap has a cool quote embroidered into it saying ‘Just for fun. Why else?’

This is a link to another trend seen before and still on the current runways: statements. Since these have been on almost every shirt around for the past year, I prefer to use this subtly. Also I always make sure I only purchase fitting items, so don’t buy anything with a strong statement that you don’t know anything about or don’t stand behind. So which shows have been showing some crossword puzzling skills this fall? Take a look at Versace, Sacai, Stella Jean, Creatures of Comfort, Ashish, Christian Siriano,  The Elder Statesman. Next to that this hat is super on trend because Retro hats are the accessory of the season, take a look at Prada, Gucci & Marc Jacobs.

As for the over the knee boots: The model is already super cool for this season. We have seen many super models such as the sisters Hadid strutting down the streets during Fashion Week  in these boots. The material used for the boots that I’m wearing is a royal blue velvet. Velvet is like previous seasons a big trend! For this fall you can get inspiration from shows such as Alberta Ferretti, Erdem, Jason Wu, Altuzarra, Neil Barret & Aquilano Rimondi.

The jacket is super cool! I love the color and if you have kept an eye on the shows then you know that sheepskin is the material to keep you responsibly warm this winter!  Although we have seen many natural colored editions of this model on the runway… I have taken the liberty to combine this trend with the colorful fur trend, making it a rainbow sheep trend 🌈🐩 Since I noticed that yellow has been used a lot already for this spring, I figured it would be a smart purchase in this color. So which designers have been herding sheeps for this fall? My favorites are: Marc Jacobs, Coach 1971, Hermès and Prada.

As for the top, this is an absolute folk item! The colored suède and floral embroideries give it a bright and cool touch to a pretty nostalgic trend. If you want to know more about this trend, please check out my trend report in the stylist section.
